1990
In 1990

Shangyu Haishen Chemical Factory was established, and a Shanghai office was set up. The company became a scientific research base of Tongji University in Shanghai. As one of the earliest specialized factories in China to produce cellulose derivatives, Haishen officially embarked on the R&D and production of cellulose ethers.

1993
In 1993

The company successfully developed its first construction-grade cellulose ether product and secured its first-ever order of 1 ton, achieving a critical breakthrough from technological R&D to commercial application.

2000
In 2000

A new plant was built at a new location, with a significant upgrade in production capacity and hardware facilities. The company also began exploring the diversification of product applications, laying the foundation for subsequent multi-sector development.

2004
In 2004

The company successfully entered overseas markets and launched its export business, breaking the pattern of relying solely on the domestic market and officially embarking on the path of international development.

In 2010

The company initiated enterprise reform, improving technical qualifications, adjusting industrial structure, and comprehensively implementing standardized operations management. The corporate management system and industrial layout moved towards normalization and modernization.

In 2015

The company was officially renamed "Zhejiang Haishen New Materials Co., Ltd.", with its brand positioning upgraded towards the high-end new materials sector. In the same year, product sales exceeded 5,000 tons, marking a new milestone in market scale.

In 2019

Product applications had expanded to multiple industries including construction, coatings, daily chemicals, PVC polymerization, ceramics, and oil drilling. Products were exported to more than 80 countries and regions worldwide, forming a diversified and globalized business layout.

2022
In 2022

An investment of 15 million RMB was made to upgrade the cellulose ether production line. The new production line was successfully put into operation in October 2022, achieving a qualitative leap in production automation and process capabilities.

The company successfully obtained the Food Production License, officially acquiring the professional qualification for food-grade cellulose ether production, achieving a key transition from industrial-grade to food-grade cellulose ether applications.
